Pfaltzgraff American Company
Pfaltzgraff, an American pottery and dinnerware company was believed to be founded in 1811 in York County, Pennsylvania. The company was founded by a notable potter named Johann George Pfaltzgraff. He came came from a family of potters and passed on his skills to his 7 sons.
After death, Johann's sons John, George and Henry took over the business. The Pfaltzgraff Co. actually became the official business when George and Henry went into partnership together. 1885 is when they built the first factory.
The company grew and then the first retail store was opened in 1960 called Pottery Hill. I have found they made every kind of serving tray you could think of from relish serving trays, to bread trays, to condiment trays and more. Also, dinnerware and they sold to specialty stores and then sold to high end department stores, until in 2005, then sold out to Lifetime Brands Inc.
Lifetime Brands Inc. owned and operated 67 Pfaltzgraff stores nationwide until it was
decided to only maintain an online kitchen and dinnerware website www.pfaltzgraff.com

I have found a new love for the vintage and modern Pfaltzgraff ware, so I might start collecting some as well such as the salt and pepper shakers.
